Interest Rate Advice and OCR

The RBNZ has reduced the OCR (official cash rate) from 1.75% to 1.50%. The lowest ever in NZ's history. This has resulted in some very good fixed rates as low as 3.85%pa. The RBNZ has also signaled that the OCR could fall further to 1.25% or even 1.00% by the end of 2019. Banks have been able to pass on some of these reductions into interest reductions, but not all, as they require deposits to provide funding for lending.
